Don't Mess With Pikachu

"Very clever."

date: November 25, 2009

The voice you used for the guy was really funny, plus his stupid remarks remind me of some of my friends. Did you make the voice of Pikachu, or was that a sound bite? It took the main guy a while at the beginning to become funny, which eventually made me lose interest. Overall, you are a talented voice actor and I hope to hear other audio submissions as funny as this. Keep up the good work!

Author's Response:

Well, truth be told, I'm no voice actor. I just made this on a whim, and I probably won't make another like it. Regardless, your comments are much appreciated!

And to answer your question, I made the Pikachu sounds by talking slowly in a deep tone, and then speeding up the recordings. I'd never be able to talk like that with my voice alone. :P

8-bit Sauce

"It flows well."

submission: 8-bit Sauce

I really enjoy how the beat kicks in at about fifteen seconds. Then I like how the tune fades out, takes a break, and jumps back in, it all meshed together perfectly. I would imagine hearing this song in a video game if someone was traveling underwater, but I think it would also make a good credits song. It's also nice how the song fades out at the end, you don't hear that too often. Nothing to complain about here, excellent job. Keep up the great work!

I like how it has the light percussion tone at the beginning, and the bassline comes in and really rocks it. The bass line felt unnecessary in the middle of the song, I thought the beats and melody you had going were fine enough. I play the saxophone, so hearing this jazz ensemble really makes me want to grab my instrument and play. Anyway, Keep up the good work!

Author's Response:

Thanks! Glad to hear this from a jazzy kinda guy (since you play the saxophone. By the way, I kinda glanced over your review at first, and I wasn't totally sure what "really makes me want to grab my instrument" meant before I saw it in context... might want to be careful with wordings like that :P). I don't think omitting the bass during the mid parts is an option, the bass makes up like half of the song.

Thanks a lot for the review!

Whooper Box

"Funny idea for a song."

submission: Whooper Box

I actually found it creative that you read ingredients and nutrition facts to the beat of a song. It is pretty ridiculous that I found this song to be somewhat catchy, but I laughed really hard. It became pretty redundant by the second minute of the song, but I liked when you would randomly shriek. Overall, it was a unique piece that is an odd song to find similarities to. Anyway, keep up the good work!

The Haunted Mansion

"A spooky tune."

date: November 11, 2009

I knew I recognized this tune from somewhere! I played Escape Pico's Mansion numerous times, this fit the theme for that game perfectly. You have a real talent of making song for theme based levels, you should seriously consider taking flash author based requests for that stuff, I'm sure it would be greatly appreciated. Anyway, you receive a perfect score from me, keep up the fantastic work!

The Deep Blue

"Favorited for sure."

submission: The Deep Blue

I was waring headphones, so the beat balancing out from ear to ear sounded extremely awesome. I love the melody for this song, it is so relaxing, I'm sure this will eventually be used ina game, I could see it perfectly in that Glass Fish Rhythm Adventure game. A good song is hard to come by these days, you show complete mastery in that department. I'm definately adding this to my favorites. Keep up the excellent work!

Tempotic

"A great tune."

submission: Tempotic
date: November 11, 2009

The drum beat started out great, it really hooks the listener. The melodious keyboard in the back is a nice attention grabber as well. I like at the minute mark how the rhythm echoes as it silently builds up and unleashes itself, it is an interesting tune, unlike any song I have heard before. It was mainly percussion which was nice to hear as well. Keep up the great work!

Bound Bow Wow

"Pretty good."

submission: Bound Bow Wow
date: November 11, 2009

I would have preferred if it started out a little stronger, as it took a while for it to get into the groove. i really thought the drum beat was catchy, the combined melodies should be stuck in my head all day. Plus the flute solos remind me of Jethro Tull. It took me a while to enjoy the piece, but it is growing on me and is a really catchy tune. Keep up the good work!

-Under the Sky-

"Nicely done."

submission: -Under the Sky-

I like how the song builds up, you have a good ear for that kind of stuff. The tone is definately created when the song starts out slow, but I love when it kicks into high gear. I imagine floating on clouds or some dream sequence when I hear the song. I was waiting for the song to eventuall come back down from the climax, but I was somewhat disappointed that it was not executed as well as I would have liked. Anyway, great job on this and keep up the good work!

I was hooked on this since the beginning tune. I like how you add a different note each time, the song is becoming larger and larger. I could definately see this in a flash game, preferably in a volcano level as your title of the song states. Overall, it has a nice hook and a catchy beat. Nothing at all to complain about, it sounds extremely cool. Keep up the great work!
